This is the first lesson in this Module 2, with My family as the topic, aims to complete the task of “providing and asking for information of others”. Through the learning and practice of Unit 1, it is designed to enable students to ask questions and answers about family memebers cultivates the basic ability to use English for social activities.

Step 1 Warm-up
1. Ask Ss: Do you have a happy family? How many people are there in your family? Who are they? Please show us a photo of your family. Then divide Ss into 6
groups . Work in groups and introduce the members of their family to see which team is the best.
Say: Are you clear? Ready! 2. The teacher plays the PPT and shows the pictures to them.
T: Now look at the photo of Tony’s family. Let’s know his family members, OK? Lead the students to say the members of family like this: 【设计意图】
用学生熟悉的家庭成员引入本课话题,激发学生兴趣。通过学生分组讨论,加强生生互动,活跃课堂气氛,为正式进入课文内容的学习进行热身。
Step 2 Listen and answer
Listen to the text and choose the correct answer.
1. Play the tape and have them read and follow
2. Ask the students to read through the conversation individually. Then choose the correct answer.
3. Check the answers
(1) Linda is Tony’s sister.
(2) Liz is Tony’s aunt.
(3) Paul is Tony’s uncle.
(4) Mike is Tony’s brother.

Step 3 Free talk
Ask and answer about Activity 3
T: Is this your mother?
S: Yes, it is.
T: Are these your parents?
S: No, they aren’t.
T: Who are the girl and the boy?
S: They are my cousins.
Then show a picture on the screen.
Ask the students to talk about the picture like these:
A: Is this your sister?
B: Yes, it is.
A: Are these your grandparents?
B: Yes, they are .
A: Is this her husband?
B: No, that’s her…

在对话中操练指示代词的应答,从感性层面加强对指示代词的运用和认知,建立初步理解意义。
Step 4 Language points
指示代词的用法:
This,these,that,those 成为指示代词,用来指示或标示人或事物,其中,this和that为单数,these和those 为复数。另外,this和these用来指离自己较近的人或物,that和those 用来指离自己较远的人或物。例如:
This is my bike, and that is her bike.
These are my books, and those are his books.
当指示代词所指的事物已确定时,后面的指示代词指人时用he, she, they来代替,指物时用it和they 来代替,如:
Is this your book? Yes, it is.
Are these your uncles ? No, they aren’t
on the left 在左边,on the right 在右边,是表示方位的介词短语,不仅可以用来描述人物之间的位置关系,还可用来描述事物之间的位置关系。
例如:My bed is on the right ,and his is on the left.
“ in front of” , 在… …(范围之外的) 前面,“in the front of”在… …(范围之内的) 前面,例如:
My teacher is in front of the classroom.(说明老师在教室的外面)
My teacher is in the front of the classroom.(说明老师在教室的里面)

1. Look at the photo of Tony’s family , and complete the sentences.
