摘要：A wireless communication device for collecting vehicle on-board diagnostics(OBD) data is disclosed, together with associated methods of handling OBD data in suchwireless communication devices. In embodiments, the wireless communication device isarranged to determine when it has been disconnected from the vehicle OBD port and tocorrect previously stored time-stamped OBD data by synchronising with an externalreference clock signal provided by an external mobile telecommunications device beforethe corrected OBD data is transmitted to the external device. In other embodiments, thewireless communication device comprises a processor configured to aggregate collectedOBD data into risk profile data comprising one or more scalar indicators and/orhistogram indicators, and the device is further arranged to store the risk profile data inmemory until the device is paired with an external mobile telecommunications device anda data transmission instruction is received. In yet other embodiments, the wirelesscommunication device comprises an accelerometer and a processor configured todetermine an orientation of the accelerometer relative to the vehicle based on the OBDdata.
